With regards to "Event Notifications" in jobs and tasks.
As far as I can tell you can only set source and message for the notification events that VC creates, resulting solely in informational events with no EventID.

Is there any chance to alter this so that one would be able to decide type of event aswell? As in being able to create Error/Warning events in the Application log if a job or task failed?

I am trying to port a rather extensive amount of scripts previously used in scheduled tasks on various servers to VC and this lack of flexibility with regards to notification events is bit of a problem.

It's a pretty simple thing to do in scripting languages like PowerShell for example so I don't understand the reasoning behind your decision to leave this out of the notification event functionality in VC 😕

For various reasons we did not extend this fully at the time. However, in latest version we added an Event log Task which should have everything:
