We would love the ability to create custom, C# based global variables. This way, we can extend the variables that exist for our users, but not be limited.
It would be a great way to extend the platform, and give your development team a nice interface for developing new variables in the future.

MEF (Managed Extensibility Framework) might be something worth looking into.

Yes, I could ask for custom variables.. But we also have the skillset to make them in C# at our pace/need.

Examples:
  • Data Type Conversions (Dates, etc)
  • More Complex Date Calculations

I feel the same way about making reusable task types. I understand there would be some challenges around the UI, but it would be nice to make Global Tasks with required fields/parameters that could then be reused as well.

Keep up the great work!

Hi Brad,

we are working on this. We call it Task/Code repository where you can create functions in Powershell or .NET. These can be shared across this community. Then the functions can be called through Variables (with parameters). Probably we will have something working in 4 weeks.

Any idea when this feature might be making its way into Beta or Release?

Outstanding! I am a little behind on my versions, so this is all the more reason to get caught up across the board!

Great job! I am continually impressed by how your team adopts community feedback for new features!
