We use notifications to send alerts when jobs fail and include the corresponding log file from that job. These are custom log files for the job, not the generic VisualCron log file. The problem is that often times these log files are too large for our email inboxes, so we only attach them if they are under 2MB in size. We would really like a way for the notification to only attach the last 100kb or so of the log file. We realize this would only work for text files, but it would be extremely useful and save a lot of time in troubleshooting job failures because now we have to login to the server to view the entire log file. This would work similar to the ‘tail’ command that shows the tail end of a text file.
