I tested 5.3.2 and I encoutered this:

I had a job with 9 tasks.
I deleted all the tasks but one, the ftp task to download files.
Now if I open the task and click on OK (without modifing) I get a popup with:

Title:Missing Values
You must select a Task

I did not change the task at all. The task type is: FTP/FTPS/SFTP

😕

The problem is that the Task start EXTRA sync does not point to any existing Task. We are handling this error in next version by showing an error message but you need to update this Task.

Seems strange and we could not reproduce. Where do you delete it, in main view or Job?

Anyway it seems to be related to Flowchart error. Please follow instructions on that reply.

Flow chart error

For the job '_Elektronische Postbus - Dagelijkse bestanden' you are correct. If I delete the last task pointing to the not existing job, the flow chart is ok.
The other two jobs however will still give the error.

Popup error

The other problem regarding the popup with 'You must select a task' happens like this:
1. expand the job bloomberg
2. double click on the task 'Haal resultaatbestand op'
3. click on the ok button

This should give you the popup.

That popup and flowchart error is because you have an OnError that is pointing to a Task that does not exist. We have added handling for this but you need to correct it on your end.

Ok,

The jobs were imported from 4.9.40 into this 5.3.2 version. In the 4.9.40 job it was setup exatly the same (donno why), but there was no flow chart, so I did not saw this error.

Thanks for sorting this one out.

Hi, I donno if this a 5.3.2 issue, but in 4.9.40 it works. It's a ftp issue:

I logged on a ftp site and have one task, downloading all the files (no subdirs)
I have several errors:

8/27/2009 9:07:33 AM	Info	Task started: download (31)
8/27/2009 9:11:02 AM	Err	Error (5) downloading file(s): lookup.out.gz.enc, err: Unaccepted server reply (error code is 213) (213 280984)
8/27/2009 9:11:02 AM	Info	Task completed: download (31)

8/27/2009 9:12:36 AM	Info	Task started: download (32)
8/27/2009 9:16:02 AM	Err	Error (5) downloading file(s): rate_daily.out.20090822, err: Unaccepted server reply (error code is 213) (213 25605)
8/27/2009 9:16:02 AM	Info	Task completed: download (32)

8/27/2009 9:23:23 AM	Info	Task started: download (33)
8/27/2009 9:23:40 AM	Err	Error (5) downloading file(s): short_restrict_global_0335.out.gz.enc.20090821, err: Unaccepted server reply (error code is 213) (213 23192)
8/27/2009 9:23:40 AM	Info	Task completed: download (33)

I tried it several times and still the same error on different files.

If I create the same job in 4.9.40 I have no errors, everything is downloaded.
I did several tests in the 4.9.40, and it never fails, so in 5.3.2 (and it might be in prior versions of version 5) there's a problem.

Regards,
Erik.

I am installing this beta version now to test the Jabber feature. I will post the results shortly.
PatrickH
2009-08-27T20:59:46Z
I tried creating a task to send a jabber message, it shows a result of Success but with a stderr of "Exception in Task: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.". I never received the message so I don't think the task did anything.

When configuring a IM connection under connection manager, I chose:

main settings tab

Protocol type: IM
Name: jabber
Address: blank <grayed out>
Port: 21 <grayed out>
Timeout: 60

security tab

Authentication type: password
username: (my jabber login)
password: (my jabber password)
ACCT: blank

And on the instant messaging tab of my task, I chose:

connection: jabber
protocol: jabber
recipient: (my jabber account)
message: this is a test

I am thinking that the jabber address on the main settings should be something, not blank. Is that supposed to be grayed out so I cant type anything there?

I tried the same task again, and while it did not give me a stderr it has been running what appears to be indefinitely.
ErikC

I have in a normal FTP task several downloading tasks, but look at this:

220 DDS FTP server (xxx) Wed Sep 16 08:11:13 BST 2009 ready.
USER xx
331 Password required for xx.
PASS ********
230 User xxlogged in. Access restrictions apply.
FEAT
502 Permission denied.
SYST
215 UNIX Type: L8
PWD
257 "/" is current directory
PWD
257 "/" is current directory
PWD
257 "/" is current directory
CWD /data/eurotop/300_constituents
250 CWD command successful.
TYPE A
200 TYPE command successful.
PORT x,x,x,x,x,x
200 PORT command successful.
LIST
150 Opening ASCII mode data connection for /data/eurotop/300_constituents.
500 Syntax error, command LIST unrecognized

and in the VC log:

9/16/2009 8:33:05 AM	Info	Task started: Download alles van FTP site (115)
9/16/2009 8:33:12 AM	Info	Task completed: Download alles van FTP site (115)

So I have no error in the VC log, but there is an error in one of the downloading tasks in the FTP task. The job and task result are success.

In version 4.9.40 I have this result:

DDS FTP server (xxx) Wed Sep 16 08:14:38 BST 2009 ready.
USER xx
Password required for xx.
PASS x
User xx logged in. Access restrictions apply.
PWD
"/" is current directory
CWD /data/eurotop/300_constituents
CWD command successful.
PWD
"/data/eurotop/300_constituents" is current directory
TYPE A
TYPE command successful.
PORT x,x,x,x,x,x
PORT command successful.
LIST
Opening ASCII mode data connection for /data/eurotop/300_constituents.
Syntax error, command LIST unrecognized
QUIT

and in the VC log:

9/16/2009 7:30:03 AM	Err	Error at GetFTPFileNames: Syntax error, command LIST unrecognized (reply code 500)

So here I have a real task error and the job failes.

I think, because of the error the job and task result should be failed.

In the FTP task, I have more download tasks and are working fine.

I tried to FTP to this directory from the DOS prompt and downloaded the files from there myself. This worked like a charm, so something else is also not right here.

The problem is about how you specify the from and destination user. I think you need the full email in one place and the target username in the other.
