Virtual Machine Automation

VIRTUAL MACHINE AUTOMATION

VisualCron can interact with various on-premise and cloud services for virtualization:

  • VMWare VCenter / VSphere
  • Microsoft Azure
  • Amazon EC2
  • Hyper-V
  • Virtual Server

  • VMWar VCenter / VSphere

VMware vCenter Server is advanced server management software that provides a centralized platform for controlling your VMware vSphere environments, allowing you to automate and deliver a virtual infrastructure across the hybrid cloud with confidence. These are some of the related Tasks:

  • Start VM (Pro) - The VMWare - Start VM Task starts (power on) a virtual machine.
  • Stop VM (Pro) - The VMWare - Stop VM Task stops (power off) a virtual machine.
  • Create snapshot (Pro) - The VMWare - Create VM snapshot Task creates a snapshot from the current state of the virtual machine.
  • Clone VM (Pro) - The VMWare - Clone VM Task lets you clone a virtual machine.
  • Install tools (Pro) - The VMWare - Install tools Task installs the tools for the virtual machin
  • Register VM (Pro) - The VMWare - Register VM Task lets you register a virtual machine in the VMWare Server.

  • Microsoft Azure

Microsoft Azure, formerly known as Windows Azure, is Microsoft's public cloud computing platform. It provides a range of cloud services, including those for compute, analytics, storage and networking. Users can pick and choose from these services to develop and scale new applications, or run existing applications, in the public cloud. Here are some of the Tasks in VisualCron:

  • Azure - Start VM (Pro) - The Azure - Start VM Task starts an existing virtual machine in the Azure cloud.
  • Azure - Stop VM (Pro) - The Azure - Stop VM Task stops an existing virtual machine in the Azure cloud.
  • Azure - Create VM (Pro) - The Azure - Create VM Task creates an existing virtual machine in the Azure cloud.
  • Azure - Start web site (Pro) - The Azure - Start web site Task starts an existing web instance in the Azure cloud.
  • Azure - Stop web site (Pro) - The Azure - Stop web site Task stops an existing web instance in the Azure cloud.

  • Amazon EC2

Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) is a web service that provides secure, resizable compute capacity in the cloud. It is designed to make web-scale cloud computing easier for developers. Amazon EC2's simple web service interface allows you to obtain and configure capacity with minimal friction. Here are some of the Tasks in VisualCron:

  • EC2 - Start instance (Pro) - The Amazon EC2 - Start instance Task starts an instance that uses an Amazon EBS volume as its root device.
  • EC2 - Launch instance (Pro) - The Amazon EC2 - Launch instance Task launches the specified number of instances using an AMI for which you have permissions
  • EC2 - List instance(s) (Pro) - The Amazon EC2 - List instances lists existing instances according to specified filter.
  • EC2 - List volume(s) (Pro) - The Amazon EC2 - List volume(s) Task returns a list containing various status properties for filtered volume(s).
  • EC2 - List snapshot(s) (Pro) - The Amazon EC2 - List snapshots Task lists one or more of the Amazon EBS snapshots available to you. Snapshots available to you include public snapshots available for any AWS account to launch, private snapshots you own, and private snapshots owned by another AWS account for which you've been given explicit create volume permissions.

  • Hyper-V

Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) is a web service that provides secure, resizable compute capacity in the cloud. It is designed to make web-scale cloud computing easier for developers. Amazon EC2's simple web service interface allows you to obtain and configure capacity with minimal friction. Here are some of the Tasks in VisualCron:

  • List VM (Pro) - The Hyper-V - List VM allows you to list virtual machines on a specific Hyper-V Server.
  • Suspend VM (Pro) - The Hyper-V - Suspend VM allows you to suspend a virtual machine that is hosted on a Hyper-V Management Server.
  • Check VM (Pro) - The Hyper-V - Get VM status Task allows you to determine the state of a specific virtual machine hosted on a Hyper-V Management Server.
  • Reset VM (Pro) - The Hyper-V - Reset VM allows you to reset a virtual machine that is hosted on a Hyper-V Management Server.
  • Delete snapshot (Pro) - The Hyper-V - Delete snapshot allows you to delete a system snapshot of a virtual machine that is hosted on a Hyper-V Management Server.

  • Virtual Server

Microsoft Virtual Server was a virtualization solution that facilitated the creation of virtual machines on the Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows Server 2003 operating systems. Originally developed by Connectix, it was acquired by Microsoft prior to release. Virtual PC is Microsoft's related desktop virtualization software package.puting easier for developers. Here are some of the Tasks in VisualCron:

  • Start VM (Pro) - The Virtual Server - Start VM Task starts a specific virtual machine
  • Turn off VM (Pro) - The Virtual Server - Turn off VM Task turns off a specific virtual machine
  • Save VM state (Pro) - The Virtual Server - Save VM state Task saves the current state of a specific virtual machine
  • Check VM status (Pro) - The Virtual Server - Get VM status Task retrieves the status of a specific virtual machine
  • List VM machines (Pro) - The Virtual Server - List VM Task retrieves a list off all virtual machines on a specific server
