I run a lot of Execute tasks locally on my VC server and I just noticed that all these tasks run under SYSTEM now. Despite the fact that I set credentials to run the task as.
I don't know for how long this has been going on.
How is this possible?

Have you set "With profile" option on the Execute Task?

That option does not exist anymore. But I do not have the option "Load profile" set in my managed credentials, if that is what you mean.

Right, I thought it was not included in your version. You need to check "Local login" and "Load profile".
