Hi

I'm trying to get the sharepoint tasks in 6.1.4 working but not having much luck. Could someone point me at the documentation for this please.

I have set up a connection to our sharepoint server with a set of credentials that usually work but I get this error in a popup:

Exception in Task: Invalid URI: The format of the URI could not be determined.

has anyone else got this working?

Thanks in advance

Similar issues here.

I WAS using the address intranet.mydomain.com and getting the same uri error. I then changed to the following in the SharePoint connection and now get a 401 authentication error.

For the connection here is what I am using (getting a 401unauthorized error):

Address: https://intranet.mydomain.com/
SharePoint version: SharePoint 2010
Authentication type: default
username and password are a known good set of AD credentials in the format domain\username
no proxy

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Hi Nigel,

we are currently constructing documentation. Could you tell me the exact url that you use?

I tried the new build with the same results. I tried basic auth and default auth. Same thing. I also tried two different known good accounts.

Exception in Task: The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized.

Has anybody been successful in using the new SharePoint tasks? If so, can you provide details on your connection configuration?

Thanks,

Chuck

I'm clearly missing something... I dont see where the URI is entered.

I'm trying to run a 'Get Lists' task. On the 'Get Lists' tab of the task there is a dropdown containing the sharepoint connections.

If I edit that connection, I can enter a protocol and address (hostname) on the 'Main Settings' tab, the sharepoint version on the 'Sharepoint' tab, authentication, certificates and proxy on the other tabs.

I see no reference to a URL so I cant say what URI I'm using.

Henrik - Can you shed any light on this?

Hi Nigel,

you should use the Address/Hostname in Connection for this. Please let me know if you need to use different addresses here (in other Tasks). Then we will create a separate URL in that Task.

Please test with latest: http://www.visualcron.co....aspx?g=posts&t=2743  so we know you are running same code as us.

We tested this before release. We used Default option against a Sharepoint 2010 server. No special settings. It can only be related in what you define as username, password and domain.

Still can't get this to work. I must be doing something wrong on the connection settings, as I am still getting a 401 error back from SharePoint.

Can anybody provide an example of their SharePoint Connection settings that are working please?

Thanks

Charles,

does it not even work when browsing for Lists etc? (in the interface) Are you testing the download or upload Task?

The issue was the authentication method on the IIS site.

The default appears to be Windows Authentication.

The only way to get this to work is to change to Basic authentication.

I enabled Basic auth and disabled Windows auth and it works.

I did try having both Windows and Basic enabled, but it continued to fail.

We are running 6.15, and are unable to authenticate using the SharePoint connection. we have been able to connect to the SharePoint server using the WEBDAV connection, but would like to be able to administer the site using the SharePoint tasks. Has anyone successfully connected using the SharePoint connection?

Not really interested in the IIS hack/basic auth.

Which authentication is enabled then on your web site? It is a whole different thing to access through a web browser because then you use FORMS authentication. Now you need to have some kind of other authentication to connect directly.

Thanks for the reply Henrik,

We use NTLM (integrated windows) authentication. Any assistance you could provide would be greatly appreceated.

I suggest testing with this version:

I am testing against a server with only Windows Authentication enabled. I am testing with Sharepoint 2010 on a Windows 2008 server.

Thanks for the suggestion, but we just went through an upgrade. We would like to upload to SP using credentials. Is there a way this can be accomplished?

- Thanks, Kevin

Yes, you need to run with credentials (username/password specified in the Connection). Try with "Default" option.

No, I still have not been able to authenticate and return a 401 when using these tasks. I am experiencing the same problems.

SharePoint2010, Windows 2008R2
IIS NTLM Auth Only Using "Default" setting in VC (BASIC hack cannot be considered)
VisualCron version: v6.2.2
Valid AD Credentials Used

No, when browsing lists on task get list items I receive a messagebox containing the 401 error.

I would really like for this to work and this is very frustrating.

We did a successful test with the following:

  • VisualCron 6.2.2
  • Sharepoint 2010
  • In the Sharepoint website, port 1440 we use only Windows Authentication.
  • In Connection we use setting Sharepoint 2010 + Default authentication (Windows).
  • In the Connection we use this address: http://ipaddress:1440
  • In the Authencation tab we use username (without domain name - just username).
