Randomly we have an issue where VisualCron shows that a job is running but it isn't running anything and the only way to clear it is to stop the service. I've tried deleting the task that has the running status and adding it back; I've tried stopping the job multiple times, I've tried copying the job and deleting the old one but can't get it to clear. Is there any other way to reset the status without restarting the service? I've attached a screenshot so you can see the issue

Are you sure it does not help with just restarting the Client?

If I restart the service (Server > Service > Stop) it will clear it up; however I can't do that on this server since we have two major clients running jobs 24X7. Is there any other way to clear it? I could rebuild the entire job again but was hoping to avoid that...

I think you misunderstood. I am talking about the Client which you configure Jobs and Tasks with. What if you just close and re-open it?

No I tried that as well, no luck. Now other users have the VisualCron client open on the same server so would they all need to close it or should it work if I just close it?

I just wanted to check if this was a Client or Server problem. It sounds really strange though. It seems like some one has reset the Job as you cannot even when the Tasks last ran?

Ah, maybe you have a Condition on the Job that is set in some kind of loop? Please check Conditions on the Job.

We don't use any conditions with any tasks on this server. I had some generic ones loaded but we dont use them; to be safe I just went in and deleted ALL conditions we have to select and still no luck. Only thing I know to fix it is to stop the service at this point other than rebuilding the job from scratch.

Please send the log_serverDATE.txt from the day the Job was started along with the Job name to support@visualcron.com

I'm not sure where to find that. When I look at the log it only show's today's details and I can't retrieve any other dates.

Right click on the VisualCron Tray Client when you are on the server machine. Select Server->Open log folder.

Oh sorry I see it now, under the Log folder with the software (sometimes its the obvious that you can't see. 😊

It seems to be some strange things going on. It is like it is restarted and the last instance was not completed full which gives a lot of errors in the log. Are you able to reboot the server. Then, when this happens again, send the log and without restarting the service first.

Just so I understand what you are needing ~

Reboot the server
Make sure VisualCron is not running; if it is stop the service
Send a copy of the most current log file available on the server and send that to you?

I am having the exact same issue. We are running 6.1.9 Visual Cron. Restarting the client usually clears up the problem, but that's not a good solution.

We are suspecting that this happens if you have the Client running in the background. Maybe minimized or in a RDP session that you are currently not viewing. Could this be the case, can you reproduce this?

No, that's not the case. I did restart the service and server.

I suspect it's due to running a robocopy batch script via remote execute.

Visual Cron is on Server A
The files I'm copying are located on Server B
The files are being copied TO Server C

Visual Cron on Server A is calling a script on Server B via Remote Execute. The destination drive from Server C is network mounted on Server B. The script runs just fine when executed directly on Server B. When executed remotely by Visual Cron, it just runs for ever until I restart the service.

For now, I've set up another task in Visual Cron to move the files from Server B to Server C.

I think that will work.

I know if I installed Visual Cron directly on Server B it would work as well, but I can't as I can't install .NET 4 on that server due to a legacy application.
