Hi,
I searched the forum for an similar bugs and did not find any.I have been having an issue with a job that I modifed that is driving me crazy. This job on Visual Cron (ver- 5.7.8), in which, the last task is supposed to archive(zip) a large text file to a destination folder. However I noticed that instead of zipping the file onto the destination, the file is only moved to the location(as .txt, there is no other move task in job). However when I run this task alone, it zips correctly onto the destination folder. So I guess the problem only occurs during the automated run.
I also noticied that the job run timestamp is also not updated. So I am not sure if the Zip task is run at all during the cycle.
Please advice.

A couple of thoughts. First you need to use appropriate Variables instead of wildcards for the copy task. Please look at the video tutorials for more information. This eliminates some problems. Secondly with seeing it with my own eyes it seems like the job does not trigger ar all. One reason could be that the file is moved into that place instead of being copied. Either way the real time log should tell you if it is triggering or no.

Thanks for your inputs, Henrik. The job did not create an job logs for me to investigate.I have just turned on the logging (or I think I have). So I should see the triggering information.Another thing I noticied is that when trying to create the variables( the value of the file variables was shown "as error in argument")- does that ring a bell- maybe something might be wrong on how the job is trigerred, but the job is run automatically daily and is definitly being trigerred. I'll let you know on what I find.
Fyi-Also the trigerring job fails at a step, yet manages to trigger this job.

Screenshots attached to Post#1.
'VC screenshots for vendor email job.jpg'shows the triiger for job
and 'VC screenshots for vendor email job archive task.jpg' shows the archive step in the job.
If you notice the datatimestamp on the job is not being updated, though the job does run ever day.(last run was June 02 2013, but shows a date of May 29 for job and archive step run manually @ May 30th)
I was not able to set the job logging or see the job log for this job.

Thanks

What about the settings in the archive items window - could you send a screenshot of that?

Question- Did you what the screen shots for the Settings in Compress tab/Content tab or the Main settings? for the Archive task. One of the screenshots sent earlier had the settings for the Archive settings.

I am thinking about the "Content" tab.

I am not sure what you base the file mask on but there is a risk you get serveral files. I would suggest using the Trigger Variables instead to be sure you only work with the Triggered file.

Sorry I had to black out the file name, because of the policies at place. Its filename*.* Since the file is deleted from source for each move, there is only one file at the time of run.Do see this or anything else as being the archive issue?
The job log is still not being generated nor is the timestamp updated.Might just be me, but I have a feeling that all these issues might be related somehow.

Update- The issues seems to have corrected itself( yesterdays run was fine) after I ran the job(all tasks) manually from top. This also seems to have correctly the timestamp problem. This might have to do with the trigger variables resetting properly is my only guess, Will continue to monitor this week.
