I would like to know if we upgrade the VC client in to the latest version, will there be backwards compatibility issues when connecting to VC server of old versions?

We installed VC server ver 4.9.21 in one server and unable to connect from client versions 4.9.3. Except this one server, we have ver 4.9.3 installed in several servers and clients. Please advise

It won't be any backwards compatiblity in the Connection because the way we connect has changed since 4.9.13.

Yes, if you get that message you need to upgrade the Server.

I am trying to connect the VC client (4.9.40) to a Remote VC Server , ver 4.9.21 .

There is no indication of connecting. The progress is at 0% without any changes. Please advise

I tried using the ver 4.9.35 of client also with no luck. This is becoming urgent for me to resolve. Any quick help is appreciated.

You need to upgrade the Remote VC Server to version 4.9.40 (the same as your client). If you need to download the software again it is here: http://www.visualcron.com/download.php

Be sure to perform a backup of your jobs before you do the upgrade.

Now I am having the same version installed in the server and the client. I am not able to connect even after turning of the windows firewall in the client.

I cehcked the firewall for the port 16444. It is open.

In the server log, it says client connected. Immediately another entry as Error AuthenticateAsServer: The credentials supplied to the package is not recognized.

The next one says "Error at clientThread: and the next says Client disconnected.

I created a user account with a password and tested to no avail. .

May this was happening in my previous tests also with version 4.9.35. I did not check the server logs. Since I could not see the server connection, I was thinking of the version mismatch and not on the logs.

I never had issues with the local conenction. I am having issues only from the client computers.

The problem was solved by:

1. stopping VisualCron service
2. removing myvc and vc certificates in the certificate manager
3. starting the VisualCron service
