We are currently in the proccess of getting approval for the purchase of the 5-Server license. We have a possible request for a modification or development change so that it will better suit what we would like to accomplish in our environment.

Basically we would like to setup a backup process for files greater than X amount of days. the issue we are having is that we need to be able to add a wildcard folder selection in the folder value.

Directory structure of data with multiple sub folders that have key folders within the sub-folders that need to be backed up. I understand that we can create multiple tasks to do this but we would like to make it dynamic due to folder additions and changes.

example 1: Task1 folder path - X:\Data\*\backup (Take into consideration all sub folders in Backup)

example 2: Task2 folder path - X:\Data\*\Logs

What are the chances that this could be developed or is this an option that we may not know about.

A quick reply would be appricated.

I assume the following, that if you write X:\Data\*\backup you would include the following folders:

X:\Data\abc\backup
X:\Data\123\backup

But not:

X:\Data\abc\otherfolder
X:\Data\123\otherfolder

At first glance this would require a lot of rewriting for this support but if this is critical to you I recommend continuing the discussion with Sales. Please Contact Sales through the Contact page.

Essentially yes, you have the concept correct.

X:\Data\abc\backup
X:\Data\123\backup

Is there a way to get custom modules, or would it be built/modified as a new release? I'm assuming there would be a cost for this as well, if we were to go down this road?

thanks

It will be built into a new release. We do not create custom modules - yet.

In this case there will be cost associated. It is about matching our own prirority, the general need for this functionality and how much this will affect current code base in terms of difficulty of implementation.
