This is the first version of major version 5. In this version we install VisualCron into a new folder \VisualCron\ instead of previously \VisualCron 4\. A guide moves the settings from old to new folder.

Summary of changes:

[BUGFIX] Install: Now installing in \VisualCron\ folder instead of \VisualCron 4\. Service is now named "VisualCron" and not "VisualCron 4". Settings are moved through guide.
[BUGFIX] Server: Fixed a problem with reading large files (File read Task) even though limit output was used
[BUGFIX] Client: Fixed a SQL Connection clone bug
[BUGFIX] Server: Fixed a possible codepage problem in FTP/S
[BUGFIX] Server: Handled an error when stopping (already stopped service) or when starting (already started service)

I had downloaded this version today and I'm going to install it.

Due to a busy project at my site, I only have a few minutes a day to check/test this new version.

Regards
Erik

(You might want to change the name/number from the install file from 4 to 5 😉 )
Uses Visualcron since 2006.

Hello!

I noticed that some changes were made to FTP actions and was having issues in version 4.9.37. We downloaded beta 5 and put it on a test machine to see if it would resolve our problems and we still cannot download the file.

We are using an SFTP connection and, according to the VisualCron output, we successfully log in to the server, change to the directory that has the file and then it stops. There is no other output. I have turned on both options that send incoming and outgoing messages to the task output. Here is what I see:

Server key received (DSA). Fingerprint is xxxxxxxxxxxx
Changed folder to: HOME

I can see the file in the HOME folder and am able to download it manually. I was browsing the help forums and found this conversation: http://www.visualcron.co...t.aspx?g=posts&t=343 . I tried using * to download the file but still no luck. Is there anything else I can try?

Hi Peter,

could you paste all your settings here or alternatively export your settings and send to support@visualcron.com. Please include the name and version of the SFTP server.

Peter,

another thing. That post was about upload and FTPS not SFTP. Are you having problems with SFTP or FTPS?

Hi Peter,

for security reasons we deleted your posts. Please export your settings and sent to support@visualcron instead. There was a misunderstanding, by pasting your settings I was thinking more about path and download settings. I think we better continue on email instead.

Thank you.

Hi Henrik,

It appears we will not get a test login from the vendor as I had hoped. Currently we are having VisualCron call the putty program which goes out and grabs the files from the server so we do have a workaround.

In the latest version we log enough information to find how to parse your FTP. Can you connect with to your FTP with the latest version and the send us the log (log_serverDATE.txt)

Hi Henrik,

We worked with the vendor more and were able to successfully get a connection and download files. Thanks for your help!

Peter
