Is it possible to create a password protected excel file using a password obtained from a visualcron variable?

I am using the 'Excel- Create' task and would like to create a file with a password that is supplied by a customer on a text file. I can read the contents of the text file but cannot use it to create the password. Help appreciated.

What do you mean you cannot use it to create a password? If you read with File read Task you can use {TASK(PrevTask|StdOut)} in follow up Set Excel Task.

Thanks for replying Henrik. I am able to read the password using READ FILE task but unable to get the follow-up task i.e. EXCEL - SET or CREATE tasks to accept the variable {TASK(PrevTask|StdOut)} as the password. I have attached a screenshot to better explain the problem. What am I doing wrong?

I think the problem is that previously, the Excel sheet was saved with the Variable as password. Now when loading we use the Variable value - so the problem is that password is wrong now.

I think the stored password is now {TASK(PrevTask|StdOut)} and not the value in that Variable. I suggest opening the Excel file with Excel to confirm this.

Your advice was correct. I deleted the existing EXCEL - CREATE task and re-created it again.
It now works brilliantly!!
