Yes to which? Are you referring to MSA's OR gMSA's?

As far as I see it - MSA is generally the ability to have "system service account" of your own (like LocalService, but personalized - e.g. VisualCronLocalService). And gMSA is something that made it work across domain, not just on local computer. So from user perspective - the difference is like local account and AD account.

I guess we only tested gMSA as this is the complex one, guessed that it covers MSA as well, but not really sure.

Does that mean you've added support for "Group Managed Service Accounts" in the preview build?

Yes, for File tasks, but not for Execute tasks.

When do you expect support for Execute Tasks? I'm not sure if performing File Tasks with a gMSA will be useful to us. We need to be able to Execute Programs (EXE, DLL, C#, PowerShell, etc.) as a gMSA.

We do not have any ETA on this currently, but we're definitely going to take a look at it and see if it's possible to implement it soon. A rough guess would be within ~3 weeks we'll know if it's possible or not.

Hi Henrik,

We want this badly, but our business cycle and your business cycle are just not in sync right now. We have had some hard deliverables with hard regulatory deadlines. Given that we prototyped the C# code for you, we would appreciate your grace in giving us time to get to testing this.

If pressed, I have to say the major problem with testing VisualCron releases is that if you install a newer client with an older server, it always breaks everything and that is a huge productivity hit. The workaround is also not well documented. Hope this helps you understand why sometimes users don't jump at testing something, despite having a much needed feature (which we are extremely thankful for and really want to test ASAP).

Thanks,
John

Understood. Maybe you can verify this on a test server instead of upgrading to production?

We're communicating the need to test this with business stakeholders.

Definitely want to get this done during Q4 2019.

Thank you!

Hi! What is the status of this feature? We would really appreciate to have it working. I tested with version 9.0 but the execute task doesn't work for me with a Group Managed Service Account.

It should be working. The setting is in the Credential, that you check. If its still not working, please mail support@visualcron.com with details.
