Hi there,

I am starting here, so I might be missing something.

Has anyone managed to send email via Gmail servers?

I followed the Gmail settings (http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=78799) but I get an error from the VisualCron when trying to send a test email.

I have setup the system correctly (authentication and ports), but I still get errors.

With port 465 I get a gibberish of "connection failed due to non response, blah blah" and for port 587 I get an error that systems should "issue STARTTLS".

any ideas? 😕

I have all my emails basically through Gmail, so this is quite a blocking point.

ciao

Yes, the problem is that gmail requires implicit ssl encryption which is something we need to add.

I am moving this to Feature requests. Should not be too hard to solve.

thanks, appreciate the quick response....

for the moment I solved it by using a an email non-secure connection, but it's indeed not the best solution...

Henrik,

Running 5.5.0 - don't see the tab to configure TLS support.

Thanks, this setting "fell away" in one version. We are sorry for that. It will be added to next version, probably released tomorrow. Thanks for the report.
