I'm trying to set up a trigger based on an entry in a remote computer's event log. I've tried using the IP address as well as the host name in the "remote computer" text box in the trigger setup but every time I set the Trigger to Active. I get this error:

UserPostedImage

It seems as if it doesnt have permission to connect to the event viewer but I'm using a domain admin account to connect. In addition, the task (an exe) i have setup to run on the remote server once the event is triggered runs fine under the same account.

Any ideas?

Please upgrade to latest version unless you are already using that.

Also, just to verify, try a local admin user as well.

That didn't work either. Whats weird is it was working at one point but one day just stopped. I've tried connecting to different servers, installing the server piece on a different machine to no avail.

Perhaps the password has changed on the user?

If it has worked before and suddenly stopped working without any upgrade or change in VisualCron there is some kind of system security change, Windows update or similar. Or change in the user security settings. Try a new local admin instead to rule out any user settings. Also, make sure you are running latest version.

I did update. The latest update that came out last week I downloaded and installed when prompted. To troubleshoot I have even uninstalled that update and reinstalled the previous version. It still doesn't work.

Please post a screenshot of your Event Trigger settings - the two windows in the event trigger.
