How can I configure a task to call WCF service through the API?

There is no built in Task for calling WCF services. That is something we could add. Meanwhile, I suggest you write an exe that calls the service and then call the exe with the Execute Task in VisualCron.

Version 5.5.1 has web service and WCF invocation Tasks (basic HTTP binding).
