We have recently migrated our 2 servers, after migration VisualCron is not opening in both of the servers . The initial page is blank. If the servise is restarted , VC atrts working but this is not a permanent solution.

The VC server service is running under an account other than the localsystem account.

For the last few months we are faced with this issue frequently, and have to kill all vc processes and restart the service on both servers. We would like to find a solution that does not require this action, as the service should be stable.

Kindly help
Thanks,
Suja S

First I recommend the following:

1. make a backup of the settings folder on the Server
2. upgrade to the same, latest version on Server and Client

Does it work now?

Hi,

Is there a way to rectify the error without upgrading?

Thanks,

It depends. Currently there are too many unknown factors why this happen. We know that new versions provide more logging information etc.

Hi,

I understand the situation that installing new vertion will rectify the issues . But
currently we are using VC 4.9.40 (a supported version). We dint buy license for newer version. Our customer is expecting support for the current vertion.

Other than upgrade ,is there a way to rectify this issue?

Thanks,
Suja

Please keep in mind that that version is 3 years old.

As a last try on this version we could do the following;

1.restart the VisualCron service
2. wait a minute and then try to connect
3. send us a file log_serverDATE.txt and we will take a look

Also, does it hang there forever or does an error show up?

Try to configure the Server Connection for remote logon method instead of "local".

Go to the server manager and uncheck "Is local" and write the exact name of the server or the ip (but don't write 127.0.0.1)

Thanks for your reply

I hope you have given steps for Server 2008. We are using "Windows server 2003 R2". Can you give us steps for 2003 R2 server?

Thanks and regards,

It is the same steps but I just realize that you cannot access this anyway.

Are you really trying to connect on the server itself or from another computer?

The VC client and server are on the same computer. Intermittently the VC client is unable to connect to the VC server

Can we have phone support for this issue? If so, Would you please tell the contact number because I cant find it here

Thanks for your support

Please email support@visualcron.com but make sure you have tried to change the connection from Local to Remote first.

Open Server manager. Uncheck "Is local" and write the ip of the server (do not write 127.0.0.1). Save and try to connect again.
