😕 I may have an issue with Non-Zero Exit Codes. My task and jobs will randomly continue show running in the "Results" column after the batch job has finished and closed. When this random situation occurs, it's necessary to manually stop the job. I have a few of my jobs set to "Run if it's running", but I'd like to resolve the exit issue.

Please tell us more about the actual Task that receives this error.

I have some 41 jobs scheduled from VisualCron. All of the jobs execute a task which executes and passes an argument to similar batch files.

{
c:
cd C:\Program Files\Baan\bin
bw hckjobsc.bwc -- -set BSH_JOB=%1 ttaad5203m000
}

Once the task is complete the associated DOS session closes, then the job completes and displays one of the finished results. I have been able to observe 7 of my jobs and the associated task, to Very Randomly continue displaying "Running" after the DOS session has closed. I've not been able to find a difference in the configuration of the jobs.

This was also a problem that I had hoped would be resolve in version 4.9.0, but I continue to be faced with it in version 5.5.0. I did however notice a message in version 4 that would state state “Exit Code Error”, whenever I would notice a finished job displaying "Running" in the results column.

It is hard to say. Are you sure you don't have some bw.exe processes lying around in the Task manager?

They have always been cleared out ot the Task Manger. My question is how that clearing was interpreted. I could count on a "Exit Code Error" message from version 4.

Sounds like it's time to get the hands of a tech on this issue. At the time the DOS window closes, I'd be happy with a finished message in the results column.

Should I use phone support from this point forward?

In this case phone won't help as there is no clear answer to this. We need to investigate your settings.

Could you export your settings and send to support@visualcron.com. Please tell us the name of the Job and Task which sometimes hangs.

Also, please give us more information about bw.exe. Is there anything we can setup here for testing? What does it do?

Also, I assume that you do not hide the popup windows. Is there any difference if you run the Task in hidden mode?
