Hi,

I used to do Copy file the old way with a batch command like this

Xcopy /I /S /D /Y "C:\Source" "D:\Destination"

I tried to use the built-in copy-file feature in VC, but the speed is terribly slow.

To give an idea, the Xcopy transfer occurs in about 1 minute while the copy-file feature takes about 8 for the very same file.

8 minutes is way too slow and I would of course prefer to use the copy-file built-in feature rather than the Xcopy command...

Any idea of what might be causing this?
Any suggestion on how to proceed?

thanks

Are you copying 1 file only? How large is it?

I will have to check again, I have seen some funny timings, some time fast, some times slow, it might be a network issue on our side. Let's park it for the moment, I will get back to you if the issue is consistent.

thanks for your reply
