I have a job that I've been working on intermittently over several weeks. I haven't done anything with it in the last week or so and yesterday I went to look for it and it was missing. Is there an easy way to search my backups to see which is the most recent one that has the job and can I restore that specific job? I don't want to overwrite whatever changes we've made since then.

No, I am sorry, not a single Job unless the XML file is edited manually.

What you could do is to setup VisualCron on another computer, import the Jobs and then just export that single one Job. Now, import the new file (with update) on the "real" server.
