Hi Support,

We recently installed Visual Cron as a trial and looking to roll out in our enivrionment as it looks a very good tool and replace most processes in our organisation.

Currently I am trying to create a simple ‘Restart’ computer task and getting the following exception:

- Exception in Task: Error occurred: The RPC server is unavailable. (exception from HRESULT: 0x800706BA)

And my exit code is: 77777 (VisualCron Specific Error)

I can confirm both server and remote computer hs been rebooted since installation and the RPC service is running on both devices.

Can you tell me how I can fix this?

Many thanks,
Mitul

It could be a permissions problem. Have you tried to add a (and select) Credential or the Remote computer you are trying to restart?

It is a permissions problem. Thanks.

The task works on the local PC but not on the remote PC.

Visual Cron is installed on the Root Domain Member server and the remote PC I am trying to restart is on the child domain. I have added a AD Domain Admin account (from the child domain) to the Credential and I still get the same error. Should i be using a Enterprise AD account in the credential?

Try that - or a local admin on the remote computer.

I can restart any PC/server in the same domain where Visual Cron is installed but not in a child domain using either Local Admin/Domain Admin/Enterprise Admin.

Is this a limitation of Visual Cron?

What if you use the IP instead of name of remote computer? (together with local admin user and domain name is ip or computer name)
