Hello!

i am using the Trial Time from VisualCron 5.6.9 [2010-09-21] on a Win2003 Server.

Is it possible to unzip Files with Wildcard in the Filename?

Example:

i have a file each day with the date in the filename --> xx_20101104.zip in folder c:\temp\

I can't figure out how to handle that... it works with a full filename but not with a wildcard like xx_*.zip or xx*.

Can someone help me?

Thanks

mrnolife

This is one of the things that we are going to fix soon. What you can do right now is if you are watching for new files in a folder is to handle them one by one through a file trigger.

Would you like to use that solution and need help with it?

Thanks for your fast answer!

I did it this way:

-> downloading the file
-> renaming the file
-> unzipping the file

this works very well, because we have only one file a day.

Can you show me the way how your sollution works?

Thanks alot!

What support is talking about is the following:

- Create a job.
- Set a file create trigger on a folder where you put or where the zip files are placed.
- Use the decompress task to decrompress the file seen by the trigger. This is done through variables.

If you check the option place job in queue, you can't miss any zip files if you place multiple zip files at once in the folder.

Erik

I moved this topic to Feature requests so we can implement the wild card for extraction for a future version.
