Is it possible either via a file trigger or via a timed trigger to check if files are more than X time old.

As an example, run a job every 2 hours and *if* there are any files older than 2 hours, send an email? Doesn't need to list the files, just raise and alert email.

In version 6.0.0. we have just added the functionality to just "Get files" based on the standard file filter that we use. So, you could use this Task to get files based on date filter. Then, you could add a second Email Task with a Condition which emails if output of PrevTask is not an empty string.
