I have a job with two Execution Tasks that use Foreground execution.

The "Before Execution" setting of the first Execution Task is set to logon a user and the "After Execution" setting of the second Execution Task is set to logoff.

If the server is rebooted, this job runs without issue. Then on all subsequent runs I get the following error:

Desktop Unlock/Logon failed in task: Restore SharePoint, reason: Failed to connect to Credential Provider
Exception in Task: Could not find the specified Connection for Foreground execution.

Any ideas on how to resolve this issue?

The Credential Provider is a central logon part in Windows. VisualCron adds a hook to this Credential Provider allowing it to logon in the background. There are two different ways to unlock. Either when locked or when no one is logged in.

It seems that it works for you only when someone is logged on and locked? If yes, it sounds like some kind of security setting has been changed.

Which operative system and version are you running?

It works once after a system restart, and then won't work again. The system at that stage has no one logged into it.

This is being run on Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard, Service Pack 1

I remember this discussion. I think I have talked with you before about this. I have no answer right now but we will start doing some tests next week.

We discussed a separate issue about having a drive mapping task within VisualCron. I since then made a workaround to that in the form of an exe that when launched reconnects the SharePoint drives.

But it seems to be working correctly at the moment, and I didn't change anything. So I am at a loss as to why I was getting the error.

We need to get up a new test environment running as we have not been able to reproduce it in current. We will get back to you next week.

Have you tested the latest version? We have included a lot more debugging in the startup for this to determine if everything is installed alright.
