Evaluating the software at the moment. I see the condition to monitor on file or folder existence, but I don't see a way to create a condition that monitors a file or folder modification date and triggers a task when that modification date has changed.

you have the File Trigger which can monitor a folder for new files. Please look at the video tutorials for details:

Can't seem to find this.

Maybe I need to simplify my request? We need to trigger a task if a specific file has been altered.

Open the Job. Go to the Trigger tab. Add a Event trigger of type File. This will do what you want. The video tutorials will cover the details.
