When you define a SQL connection, and click Test Connection, it should test the connection from the Visual Cron server - not the client.

If you don't do this, it is possible that you will encounter issues only present on the server (based upon configuration etc) which are not correct.

Yes agree with this, perhaps there should be a 'test on server' button for everything? Test on client isn't always useful
