I am having an issue uploading a file to the mainframe. I get an error when i try to change directories. When I put the file to the root folder I have no problems. If I do the same thing connecting to a Windows FTP server it works fine. Below is the log from the failed task. Any ideas?

What do you mean by a test account? The account used to log into the mainframe?

Thanks

Hi Henrik

I wrote a support mail regarding a very similar problem, but noticed that this post covers the same issue as ours.
I believe the source to the problem lies in the CWD command, where you apparently added a trailing slash to the folder name. A quote from my mail:

"After having inspected the FTP output further I notice that you do check different constellations of the directory in case a CWD fails.

In the following example my upload path defined in the task is “/WINGAKA”, but the funny thing is that you add a trailing slash and try all kinds of possibilities, except the ACTUAL path. You try “/WINGAKA/”, “\WINGAKA” (backslashed), etc., but you never do a CWD with “/WINGAKA”, which strikes me as odd.

The output describes my point:

CWD /WINGAKA/
550 CWD cmd failed : EDC5129I No such file or directory. (errno2=0x05190050)

CWD \WINGAKA
501 A qualifier in "\WINGAKA" begins with an invalid character

CWD \WINGAKA
501 A qualifier in "\WINGAKA" begins with an invalid character

CWD \
501 A qualifier in "\" begins with an invalid character

CWD \
501 A qualifier in "\" begins with an invalid character

MKD \
501 A qualifier in "\" begins with an invalid character
PWD
257 "'WINGAKA.'" is working directory.
CWD /WINGAKA/
550 CWD cmd failed : EDC5129I No such file or directory. (errno2=0x05190050)

Yes, currently we have a problem with mainframe servers in version 5. Is it possible to provide us with a test account?

Unfortunately no, since the connection exists on a closed ISDN line. However, I will be more than happy to provide you with any testing needed.
I believe you have my email at IAK.dk

This problem is slowly increasing, since we have a daily job that currently requires manual intervention.
