I have a simple FTP site that only requires a username/password to log into. I can access it through anything else. But when I set up the connection and try to use it in a job I keep getting the error: Unhandled exception in ProcessTaskFTP.Run: SBSimpleFTPS.EEIFTPSError: FTPS Connection not present.

I've tried every possible combination of settings in the connection setup.

Anyone else see this error?

You'll want to give a few more details.

What Version of VisualCron are you running.
What Operating System is VisualCron running on.
From that same computer/server ^ are you able to use another FTP program and connect without issue?
Is the Connection Protocol just plain FTP?

Your error mentions FTPS, hence my question. I don't have an FTP or FTPS site to test with from where i'm at, but thought i'd ask the questions that might help others.

If you own the ftp server, can you see anything in the logs?

Regards
Erik
Uses Visualcron since 2006.

The connection protocol is plain FTP and I am able to connect to it using Filezilla and IE.
VisualCron v. 8.0.4 on Windows 2012r2 server.
I have the sysadmin folks checking the logs.

Thank you.

What about outside of a task trying to use it. Have you tried using the Explorer option to connect to the FTP Connection just to validate basic connectivity without it trying to 'do' anything else ?

Yep. Everything else works. Strange as hell. Right now for a work-around I'm using a Powershell task to download what I need.

Please send a screenshot of the log you get in the built in FTP explorer in VisualCron.

I mean the log from the Connection/FTP Explorer - not the Task. Choose Tools->FTP/Connection Explorer and connect. Then copy log from there.

There is nothing else in the log but those two entries.

Glad I could see half through that strikethrough. 😁 Try without the ftp://
