Team,
We just upgraded to VisualCron 8.1.2 and one of the tasks that runs a Microsoft Excel macro is failing. Error Message:

06:03:03: Server->Execute path: C:\Program Files (x86)\VisualCron\\TaskOfficeMacrox86.exe
06:03:03: Server->Executing Task process
06:03:10: Server->Executing Task process exited with exit code: 255

I'm able to run the macro just fine when I open the EXCEL file and run it there. I've searched on the internet and I can't find anything helpful. Any ideas?

1. are you using a Credential (validate if you have load profile checked) - if no Credential try selecting one
2. have you tried with a macro that "does nothing"?

We do not use any credential, the macro works fine if I run it manually, it's doing some transformation on a TEXT file we use for QC. The only change we made is that we upgraded yesterday from VisualCron 7 to 8 so it looks like something with the new version.

Try use a Credential (same as you are logged in as) with Load profile checked.

Team tried using credentials as you suggested but still failing. The only change is the upgrade to VisualCron since it worked fine on v7 last week and has for several months (over a year). Is there a known issue in VisualCron 8 with Excel macros?

Could you please test with a "blank" macro that does nothing to see if it is a general problem?

Team tried creating the original task from scratch (AND) creating a task that called a macro that does nothing and same error. We have our Support Team looking at it now trying to identify the issue. As noted the only change we made was to upgrade VisualCron to v8.

Please zip and attach this macro file that does nothing and let us know the macro name.
