We imaged our Test AWS machine and are now using that image in Prod along with the install of VC and license for same.
I see in another thread you're suggesting "...you need to deactivate your first server to release the activation code".
I am asking IT to ice that original Test server for the time being and not have it start but keep it around for a bit if we need to refer to it. Is that sufficient? I don't want the Prod instance to fail due to license issues.

You might have problems with cloning. You should deactivate the first server and then activate the new so one is active at a time.
