When I imported the client's public key that I use to encrypt and then send, I run the task by itself, and Visual Cron loses the connection and asks me to reconnect again. This happens on Visual Cron 5 on Windows XP. Any clues as to why this happens?

Here's the Windows message

Connection failed to 'server name'. Connection failed with error 'Socket error: Unable to write data to the transport connection: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.'

Do you want to try reconnecting?

Yes No

It seems like the VisualCron server is crashing. Can you send log_serverDATE.txt to support@visualcron.com?

Nevermind. I found it in the log folder. I'll send it now.

Thanks.

Thanks, the error is handled for the next version. The problem is that you have not set folder or file name in the File filter. Maybe those settings were not converted ok according to the new standard. Please look at the File filter settings.

Where would I see these settings in Visual Cron and also what should I set the folder or file name in the File Filter?

In the main settings of the PGP Task is a tab called File filter. You need to set the path to the file you want to encrypt. What is new in latest is that you can have a more advanced filter to encrypt several files.

Oh I do have that set (I'm use UNC paths, but I can put in a Windows Letter drive as well)

Folder: \\csdowflcs001\g_share$\Legacy\EAPP\ENCRYPT

File: CallStatusUpdate_047_{STRING(Substring|{FILE(Content|\\csdowflcs001\g_share$\Legacy\EAPP\ENCRYPT\LIST_RUN_DATE_MMDDYYYY.txt)}|0|8)}.txt

Have you tested so that your filename string really returns a filename and not a path?

Yes I did, and I've used that function in other tasks (i.e. e-mail notifications using attachments). Also when I hover the mouse icon over the filename, a bubble tooltip pops up and it shows the qualified filename instead of the function. So it does work since it does the translation on the fly.

Even when I put in the fully qualified filename: CallStatusUpdate_047_10012009.txt it still doesn't work.

What about the destination file name. Have you checked all fields?

Don't know what happened, but I re-inputted everything first with the actual hard-coded filename, then the filename using the Visual Cron functions, and now it works perfectly using both filename types!

File encrypted with the PGP extension I gave it.

Thanks for your help.
