Noticed on this job (that has been running fine for a couple months), that when it in fact does download a file from a remote SFTP site, I get "no files downloaded error".

Could this be a bug in the latest version?

I don't set mine to throw a failure on no files downloaded, but what I have seen on an SFTP download is no output is being written to the task. I have a list files task that runs first, and it finds files. My download task is running, but the output makes it look like it didn't download anything. I think there is a bug in this update.

The SFTP task in 8.4.2 is borked. Downgrading to 8.4.1 also doesn't help - unless you recreate the task in 8.4.1.

Please re-download official 8.4.2. We patched this download some days ago.

Is it possible to use a different version for this fixed version? How am I supposed to tell which 8.4.2 is in use on the many servers used for our site license?

They have different build dates and build numbers as you will see in the about menu. But if you want the latest build you can test 8.4.3:

Yes, but this requires one to log on to each machine and run VisualCron client locally to check; one cannot check the version remotely from the UI for a group of servers.

Also, if different builds of the same version after release has bug fixes, it would be nice for the build version to be displayed more prominently, and included in the change log.

I agree, this was just a patch installed some day after official release to fix this particular issue.
