I was poking around my environment today, and happened to notice the backup/export setting process was not exporting the settings. I checked the job, everything looked okay, ran manually and nothing. Checked the VisualCron logs and found the following:

11/12/2012 3:35:29 PM Err Error when backuping files, err: Can not load 7-zip library or internal COM error! Message: Your 7-zip library does not support this archive type.

Two questions here, how can this be corrected? (hopefully without a complete removal and reinstall)

And, why did VisualCron not mark this task as a failure?

thanks

One other thing noticed, not only does the backup/export not happen, but we cannot export individual tasks/job/etc anymore. This is a major concern as we have other environments that we migrate jobs/tasks through before production.

Are you using normal Export/Import from File menu?
Are you using 6.1.5?

Currently on 6.1.0, and have used both, the file menu import/export, and the export task. This is only happening on two of our servers, both seem to have 7zip also installed, the other servers minus one other do not have 7zip installed.

All running W2K3

3. do you move the exported files between servers?
4. is there any difference (32 or 64 bit) between the servers?

We do sometimes between our Test and Production servers. These are all on 32-bit instances.

Could you test this in version 7? Or has this been resolved already?
