prior to the update the a job was set to download files from an sftp server. After the upgrade it started giving the error below:

Unable to change folder to: /, err: No such file
Failed to get folder content from folder: , err: No such file
Exception in Task: No file(s) downloaded

i've tried changing the source folder to multiple values like '.','/', etc. If i change it to '/existingdirectory' it will sign in and cd to that, but the files i need are on the root of the server '/'

Do you have any test account we could use to confirm this? If so, please send message to support@visualcron.com.

unfortunately we do not. I am thinking about rolling back to version 6.2.2. Is there a supported path to roll this back?

Only way is to roll back with existing backup. Give us an hour to look at this to see if we can reproduce it here. Please post settings window of the Task.
