Hi

I just started testing 9.9.9. Many things have been fixed which is great, but I noticed that when I try to delete a connection (just test deleting any connection), it hangs. It seems to me that someone has dropped an index in the database or something

Hi Thomas,

I am unable to reproduce this issue myself. Can you reproduce it every time, also assuming you've restarted the server+service?

If yes, we would need a sample connection or similar, something we can use to reproduce with. Although it's likely got nothing to do with the connection itself, would be interesting to see if someone else can reproduce this, it is the first 9.9.9 complaint we've gotten so far.

Also please enable extended server debugging in server settings and after reproducing this, send us the log_server*date* file to support@visualcron.com and we can investigate some more

Ok thanks, I will have a look at it tomorrow

Hi Michael. I uninstalled and reinstalled 9.9.9 and then this issue disappeared, so this is no longer an issue. Thanks!

If you don't mind: Could you test clicking on the log button in 9.9.9? The whole application hangs and I have to kill the process. I have tried with local database and external database for logging. I alse restarted service. Same result. Can you seee if you have the same issue?

I am also having a problem with the interface hanging for over a minute after editing a Connection entry. When the OK button is clicked on the Connection editor screen, it goes back to the Connections window, but becomes unresponsive. Attempts to move or close the Connection window result in a faulty redraw (frame separated from the contents). It recovers after about one minute. I sometimes had this problem sometimes under v9.9.5, as well.

Penny and Thomas,

Could you please enable extended server debug logging both of you, then reproduce the issue, right after its reproduced, send the log_server*date* to support@visualcron.com

Had to rollback but I can try again in the weekend, and send logfiles. I assume you had no issues when you click on the Log button then?

Tonight, I tried, but was not able to replicate the problem of the freezing connection pane in v9.9.9, after editing. Our admin did a re-install of the upgrade. Perhaps that, or the the fact that the VC server service has been restarted stabilized the situation.

Same experience as me then. If you have time, could you try to click on the Log button and see if it hangs?

Hi

I have sent the logfiles by mail to support now.

Mailed with support: Turns out extended debugging logs a lot more in 9.9.9 than before, so this made the app freeze when I click on the log button. Without extended debuggin it was fine

Yes, please upgrade to a newer version. 9.9.9 has a logging issue overall, that is why we released the next version so quickly.
