About the second test. You should not test with a Credential at all when going against the domain computer as you already are that user (through Services). Can you test without a Credential the second test.

If i remove the credential it fails

Exception in Task: Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password.

Exception in Task: No file(s) copied

Ok, then it something with that user.

If you cannot find the solution I suggest you:

1. copy locally first, then remotely
2. revert back to user SYSTEM account and use the Drive mapping tool to map the two folders using your two Credentials. Switch your UNC paths to logical drives i.e. G:
3. wait for our implementation of support for 2 Credentials

I have ran a bunch of tests and here are my results

I copied files across four servers using two different credentials where necessary
(one for the LAN and one for the workgoup):

server 1 LAN (Visual cron server)

server 2 LAN

server 3 LAN

server 4 (on a workroup on a different network)


Server permutations that worked:

4 to 1
1 to 4
2 to 2
4 to 4
1 to 2
2 to 1
4 to 3
3 to 4
2 to 3
3 to 2

server permutations that DIDNT work:

2 to 4
4 to 2


What could be causing 4 and 2 to not play ball when almost all the other variations work?

If it is a workgroup and a not domain you should try with 4 different Credential. A local user for each computer.

I'm not sure what you mean by that but server 2 is essentially the same as server 3 and server 3 works fine.

the credentials i am using are administrator@domain and administrator@machinename (server 4)

So i have now tested moving files within the visual cron installed network without credentials. PASSED
Moving files within the other network workgroup. PASSED.


Retried cross network file move (using same credential as above).

I dont understand.

It is because you are trying to copy across two networks with different users. VisualCron supports only currently Credential with one user.

There are a couple of solutions and workarounds until we support this:

- set your computers to use a domain and a the task to use a domain credential
- copy locally first
