Hi Folks,

We have a number of servers running VisualCron, and make use of development and test servers where appropriate for the development of new jobs.

We often use Export Settings and Import Settings as one of the ways we move jobs, users, and other server objects between servers, or deploy something to a number of servers.

This is generally done using selective export . . . . but you don't always get that right, or you may want something that was done originally as a Standard Backup but be selective / careful in a production setting. . . . without resorting to dumping it on a Development server first.

It would be very helpful to have the same control on Import as we have on Export, to allow us to see contents of and selectively bring in a Job or Object from a previously backed up or exported file.

This would also be good in a one server world.

The current Export has what we need.

Understand this is more painful as it involves interrogating the file to provide the tree to select from . . . . .

I can't begin to tell you how much I love this idea 🙂 I don't know why i haven't written it up myself as a request.

What I REALLY hope is possible... is that during an export OR an import, that when a job/task is selected for restore, it knows what dependencies are also required for the job/task to run. Condition sets, etc... and would ask if you want those too or just the job/task/object itself. AND... even if you do say 'yes, bring the conditions over' make sure it doesn't overwrite one that already exists 'just in case'.

We have added selective import in this version:

Please make any separate request over dependency copy that you described.
